One developer. One candle.
Candlewane is a one-person indie studio in Luzern, Switzerland. Design, code, pixels and words come together at one desk, late at night, with the patience of an old woodcut: slowly, one line at a time.
The games are dark and handcrafted pixel-art games about night, memory and the things we carry. Marrowmoon, a dark action platformer, is the first to leave the workshop and is coming to Steam; BURN-IN, a psychological horror game, and Asturias 718, a hero RTS and village builder, are in development.

A tyrant falls. The moon drinks.
Hollowford is burning, and you wake at its edge: a stand-in, a sword paid to die in another man’s place, with a crescent crack bleeding in your left palm. The dead follow that Hollow Mark. They do not want you dead. They want you at the tower.
Marrowmoon is a 2D action platformer in dark pixel art, drawn at 320 × 180 and scaled pixel-perfect. You walk one road through six chapters, from burning Hollowford by the Gallows Road, the crypt beneath the chapel, the Field of Spears and the Rotting Wood to the Pale Crown itself, and decide what you carry up it. Nobody keeps the moon any more, so it keeps its own time: every rest at a fire and every fall is a night, and how often you rest and fall decides which moon hangs over the next stretch of road.

Some pictures never switch off.
Night after night, at 3:14, someone leaves a tape at Noa’s door. It shows her flat, filmed from a corner where nobody stood, and the label is in her handwriting.
A year after the accident that killed her little brother, Noa Halden refills vending machines through the night in Vessen, a harbour town where the drizzle never stops. It is late 1998: tube TVs, a pager on her belt, neon on wet asphalt. When she stares into a light and blinks, her glass eye keeps the afterimage, and in its ink the people around her appear as their guilt has shaped them. But the afterimages no longer fade, and soon she must ask whether she is seeing the truth about others, or only about herself.

The kingdom has fallen. In the mountains, one man refuses the emir.
Asturias, 718. Seven years after the Arab and Berber conquest, the Visigothic kingdom has fallen and most of the Gothic nobility has made terms with the new masters of Hispania. In the mountains of the north one man refuses the tribute: Pelagius, Pelayo in Spanish, who gathers the people of the valleys around him.
You walk your valley in the Picos de Europa yourself, fight at the front with spatha and shield, and order the building of a village that has to feed its own defenders. Every summer the governor’s raid, the aceifa, comes up one of the passes to burn the fields, empty the hórreos and drive off the cattle, until Alqama brings the whole host to Covadonga: in 722, or later if you keep the emir fooled.
